We are always looking for the right individuals to join our highly valued growing team. We are seeking individuals with a genuine desire to make a difference offering an old fashioned home help service. You need to be caring, reliable and patient with a can do approach. People with a friendly, happy disposition with the necessary mature minded life skills are ideal candidates for this important and rewarding role. This position does not involve personal care, cooking or overseeing medication. Being a car owner and having a mobile phone is essential.
If you would like to support our clients to remain as independent as possible in their own homes and in the community we would like to talk to you. The role can involve practical and emotional support, respite/sitting services and wellbeing visits. It can include housework, shopping, accompanying clients to appointments and local outings such as garden centres and country parks. Companionship is a vital part to all our services and we aim to send the same face to a particular client for continuity and our client’s wellbeing.
It is inevitable, from time to time, for hours to fluctuate. This is due to our clients health needs which obviously dictate the service we provide to them. All our client’s needs and requirements are different and each are offered a bespoke service to suit. Our clients have stays in hospital and in some cases move on to residential care so the hours you work will inevitably change from week to week. The position will involve working up to 4 to 5 hours a day over 4 weekdays. This will build slowly as and when work becomes available in the area you live in. We aim to eventually build your rota up to approximately 15 hours a week but your hours cannot be guaranteed due to obvious reasons stated above.
Take Care do not operate in the evenings, weekends or bank holidays. It is important that all our staff are happy in their role and have a manageable workload. To this end all our team have a day off each week to be rested and give their very best to our clients on their work days. In essence, it is important to maintain a good home/work life balance.
Take Care have an excellent reputation built upon the high standards of reliability and dedication from our hard working team. This has resulted in a nomination for the Kent Messenger Newspaper 2014 Pride in Medway Award of which we are justly proud.
We would be interested to hear from you if you feel you could be suitable.
Testimonial from a staff member
For the last 3 years I’ve had the pleasure of working as a Community Assistant for Anita and Julie at Take Care. The majority of my clients were elderly. While helping them in their homes with household tasks or taking them shopping or to appointments I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve heard first hand stories of wartime life, what it was like to live in the Medway Towns in bygone days and the joys of growing up in simpler times. They’ve shared their vast knowledge of gardening, knitting, sewing and books. I’ve even learnt to play scrabble.
I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed my time with Take Care. It hasn’t always been easy and some jobs have been harder than others. However, I would say to anyone looking for a rewarding and fulfilling job, look no further than Take Care.
